The Waldorf School Windhoek’s 20th birthday celebrations were topped off by a visit from the Vice President of the Republic of Namibia Dr Nangolo Mbumba as part of the Alumni Week.
His Excellency Dr Mbumba was the inaugurating Minister of Education when the WSW was founded 20 years ago, a memory he recalled fondly upon his arrival at the school’s Avis campus. He was greeted by a procession of enthusiastic and singing students.
In a speech in which he lauded the school’s efforts to provide quality education and stressed the need for education to play a meaningful role in shaping the country’s future, the Vice President’s messages of encouragement and praise were well received.
In attendance at the official visit were members of the 2009 pioneering class, parents of the school’s larger alumni pool, and members of the media.
